A very literal illustration of a bleak northern town in one of the best songs played by Eric Clapton's old band Cream. I used parts of Halifax for reference.

 

In the white room with black curtains near the station.
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.......
I’ll wait in this place where the sun never shines;
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.
